A Chinese inspired Acupuncture health MOT can help prepare us all for the challenges ahead and leave you feeling relaxed and well again. Our bodies could be likened to a car that needs regular servicing and maintenance. The treatment aims to release stresses and strains that have often accumulated over the years. If you feel sore all the time, and Acupuncture MOT could be right down your street. Many of us will have suffered stress and trauma at some point in our lives, such as car accidents sporting injuries. Acupuncture treatment will help you relax feel healthier. The Acupuncture MOT is a valuable way of determining and correcting problems. Somebody areas can become inflamed, tiring and sore over time. The MOT treatment may help sleep, stress and anxiety, improve energy levels and reduce pain.
Acupuncture needles are incredibly fine and nothing like the heavy needles we are used to for injections, so the treatment is pretty much painless. When the needle is inserted, you may begin to feel it tingling in each case. These sensations are from a Chinese medicine perspective “Chi”. You will know you are having Acupuncture, but it certainly isn’t uncomfortable. The Acupuncturist will often give you some recommendations to help you build up your health and help you to feel on top of the world. The Acupuncture MOT aims to instil a healthy habit into the hectic nature of our lives but can also work as a specific treatment. We recommend checking out details on the stress clinic page, which involve a relaxing mix of massage and acupuncture to help you wind down and rebalance yourself.
“Back in the time of the Chinese emperor thing were very different. In those days he had lots of ‘physicians’ whose personal health depended on the emperor being well. If he became ill, they were likely to suffer so of course, they did everything possible to keep him alive and well. This meant a full health MOT every day. In China, the Acupuncturists would get paid each week by his patients. While his patients were healthy and able to pay for his service so it was always in their interests to keep everyone well. While a daily MOT may be a lovely idea it is slightly excessive. I believe a quarterly check can help fend off most problems” – Helen Taylor-Weekes (Acupuncturist & Practice Co-Director)
According to Chinese medicine, each of us has a dominant element – wood, water, earth, fire and metal – which can determine the health problems we are most likely to suffer.
This involves a tongue inspection and checking skin colour and pulses. Diagnosis continues with checking your back’s acupuncture points for signs of imbalance. According to Chinese medicine, the body is a field with energies known as chi and blood and if either of these is out of balance it can lead to a host of health problems.
Best thing I have ever done. Menopause/ migraines. I walked into practice a mess. After six acupuncture sessions, I am now me again. Helen takes the time to listen and understand what’s wrong. I can’t praise my treatment enough off all menopause medication now, and I’m feeling fantastic and have my life back
Thank you Penny
I have been attending Hatfield Practice weekly with Helen since April after being recommended acupuncture treatment by two friends. Helen is knowledgeable and has a caring, calm nature.
I would 100% recommend it!!
I have seen Helen for Acupuncture recently for some nerve problems, which I can say has been amazing. Acupuncture was a new experience to me, but after 18 months of taking medication for another problem, I was able to come off the prescribed drugs after 10 days from the first treatment and after 4/5 sessions combined with Osteopathy my long term problems have went away.
Not only are all the staff here professional in every way, they genuinely understand your needs and make you feel incredibly comfortable. They have a very relaxed family manor which I love.
I visited the practice last month for a hamstring strain/lower back issue and had 3 acupuncture sessions. I couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Helen is very knowledgeable and capable, and also friendly and makes you feel at ease.
I’ve been since able to start running again without feeling any discomfort. All the staff at the practice are very welcoming and clearly want the best for their customers. I’d recommend this place to anyone needing treatment.
The Team are friendly and professional. I visit Helen for acupuncture which keeps my health problems in check and enhances my wellbeing, I also find it a relaxing experience. I have seen several acupuncturists over the years and Helen is by far the best.
There is always a friendly welcome and the offer of refreshments.
I have also visited the Osteopath who sorted my backache in one visit. I recommend the practice to all my friends
I can’t recommend the Hatfield Practice enough. I was in extreme pain in my neck when I got in touch and they fitted me in for Acupuncture at short notice. Ian quickly diagnosed a trapped nerve and got to work on freeing it, with Helen then providing additional acupuncture relief. After a few regular sessions, the pain was massively lessened and now, just a few weeks later, I’m nearly fully fixed.
Beyond the pain relief and clear technical excellence of all the practitioners and staff here, what’s struck and affected me most is how much they sincerely care. I’m so thankful for that. I’ll be a client for life!
