What to Expect at your First Appointment
Hatfield Practice provides free and easy parking for up to eight or nine cars. Parking is also available along Ground Lane, Hatfield, and there are two or three marked one-hour bays across the road.
Once you arrive at Hatfield Practice, our receptionist will welcome you and provide a short contact form to complete.
When you are in the treatment room, the practitioner will first review your medical history. This helps build a clear picture of your lifestyle, health, and the problem you are experiencing.
We place great importance on good communication and making sure you feel comfortable and understood throughout your visit.
After discussing your history, the practitioner will carry out a biomechanical assessment and postural analysis to gain a fuller understanding of your complaint. Treatment will usually begin during this first appointment, and you will also receive advice and guidance tailored to your individual needs.
Most patients leave their first appointment with a clearer understanding of their condition and a practical plan to help them recover and move more comfortably.

Hatfield Practice works with BUPA, AXA Health and most major health insurance providers. If you are claiming through insurance, please bring your membership and authorisation numbers to your appointment.
We maintain high standards of clinical care, hygiene and patient safety across all treatment rooms to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for every patient.

Insurance Information
Hatfield Practice works with BUPA, AXA Health and most major private health insurance providers. For BUPA and AXA patients, we can submit claims directly on your behalf.
Before your appointment, please provide your membership number and authorisation number. These details are required before treatment can begin.
All appointments booked through private health insurance providers, including BUPA and AXA, are scheduled for 30 minutes. This applies to both first consultations and follow-up treatments.
Most other insurers recognise our Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and Acupuncturists. If you are unsure whether your treatment is covered, please contact your insurance provider to confirm.
When contacting us to book, please have the following information available:

Authorisation or claim code
Number of sessions or spending limit
Excess details and any benefit limitations
Please check these details carefully, as you will be responsible for any charges that are not covered by your insurance.
You will normally be asked to pay for treatment up to the value of your policy excess. Any remaining treatment costs will then be invoiced directly to your insurer, where applicable.
For other insurance companies, you may be asked to pay at the time of treatment, and we will provide a receipt for you to claim reimbursement.
Promotional Offers
Our special offer of £20 off first appointments applies to Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and Acupuncture. The first appointment includes a consultation, examination and hands-on treatment.
Promotional offers do not apply to Massage, Holistic Treatments, Cranial Osteopathy, Fertility Acupuncture, or appointments for students and children, as these services are already discounted.
The £20 introductory offer is usually available during the following promotional periods: January to March, August to October and during the Christmas period. Offers and discounts are valid only during the specified promotional period and cannot normally be combined with other offers unless agreed in advance by Hatfield Practice.
Hatfield Practice reserves the right to change treatment times, prices, website information, terms and conditions or promotional offers at any time.

Reduced fees may also be available for parents of children under five who are receiving income support, disability benefits, or sickness benefits.
