Dora Hotzi

BSc.(Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, M.Ost

Dora Hotzi first qualified as a Physiotherapist nearly twenty years ago. She then completed a Master’s degree in Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy in London. Dora is super friendly and provides relaxed, effective treatments. She also has a particular interest in functional biomechanics, and in 2011 she completed the prestigious Gray Institute for Functional Transformation (GIFT) program gaining the Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) title. She is also one of the few practitioners in the UK certified in Functional Manual Rehabilitation, using hands-on techniques to assist the body’s natural movement patterns.

Dora treats a wide variety of conditions using traditional Physiotherapy and Osteopathic techniques as well as functional exercises tailored to the client’s individual needs to maintain the treatment’s effects. However, she is particularly interested in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Dora Hotzi explains, “Having patients with completely different problems and goals is a fantastic challenge. Moving from a rehabilitation treatment session with an elderly patient following a hip replacement; to putting together an exercise routine for a young man with a spinal issue such as scoliosis; then progressing onto a whiplash injury case followed by a performance enhancement session with golf, is great and helps to keep me dynamic and creative when it comes to Hatfield Practice treatments. I like to make the treatment sessions individual to each patient, and seeing them achieve their personal goals is priceless.”

Dora Hotzi also encourages an active role from her patients. “Working out the exact aims for each patient is essential to keeping them motivated. As I always say to my patients, I only have them for a short period, so they need to put in a little effort the rest of the week! Working closely together is always the best and quickest way to achieve our goals.

Likes:  eating, exercise, laughing, red wine, fast cars, travelling

Dislikes:  early mornings, automatic cars,” schedules”, dodgy parking, waiting!
